Purpose of Meeting
The Office of Labor Management Standards administers and enforces most of the provisions of the Labor Management Reporting and Disclosure Act, as Amended (LMRDA). The Act applies to certain labor organizations, union members, employers, and others. Provisions of the Act include reporting and record keeping requirements for covered labor organizations, standards for the election of union officers, and safeguards for union funds and assets. The seminar is intended to help union officials and their staff understand and better comply with the law. It would cover various provisions of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act, including reporting and recordkeeping requirements, financial safeguards, and union officer elections.
