Serving Our Seniors - A Lunch and Learn Series
This presentation is the third in a four-part series. Each program will take place on the last Thursday of each month. June 27, July 25, August 29 and September 26 each at 12 noon. Presented by Serving Our Seniors of York, Maine.
Learning how to eat well is the key to longevity and overall health! In this funny, captivating lunch hour talk, Dr. Keenan will provide an overview of the vital connection between nutrition and heart health. He will provide healthy, easy and inexpensive solutions to orchestrating the optimal diet for increased health and well being. If you want more energy, less illness, and overall quality of life, come and hear Dr. Keenan's suggestions! He will explain how eating lots of plants will heal our ills and save our planet.
The Presenter
Dr. Joel W. Keenan is an internist in York, Maine and is affiliated with York Hospital. He received his medical degree from University of Vermont College of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Dr. Joel W. Keenan has expertise in treating chronic diabetes, obesity/overweight, chronic high blood pressure, among other conditions. General internal medicine physician, also known as internists, are primary care physicians (PCPs) who only work with adults (not children or adolescents). One of every four physicians in the U.S. is an internist.
Dr. Keenan is passionate about nutrition, as it’s an important component to medicine that is sometimes overlooked in medical training. He is enrolled in a nutrition master’s degree program to develop an even deeper understanding of the vital role nutrition plays in our overall health and wellness. He is also a member of the BaleDoneen Academy, a group of physicians educated in and committed to early diagnosis and reversal of atherosclerosis. As an MDVIP-affiliated physician, he is grateful for the time he has to listen to his patients and to work with them to create a comprehensive wellness plan to help recover and preserve their health.
Dr. Keenan and his wife, Heidi (office manager), strive to make their patients feel welcome and at home in a practice that is focused on patient needs and concerns.
