Join the Center for Wildlife to learn about Seabirds and how Climate Change is impacting their habitats.
Wildlife are resilient - withstanding many storms, predators and harsh conditions regularly. But what about climate change? Seabirds are a group of birds that live and breed offshore - mostly on tiny, rocky islands. They depend heavily on food chains that are tied to specific water temperatures. As the Gulf of Maine has been warming extremely quickly, many communities of seabirds are struggling to adapt to rapid, systemic change. But rarely does nature have "all winners" or "all losers." Join celebrated naturalist and wildlife expert Dan Gardoqui from the Center for Wildlife and he shares the stories and science in this entertaining and informative presentation.

This event is part of the 5th annual 2026 Climate Change Series brought to you by York Public Library, York Ready for Climate Action and York Land Trust. This year's theme, “Tides of Change: Our Coast Our Future”, will include special programming from February through April and will examine how a warming climate is reshaping marine ecosystems, coastal communities, and livelihoods—and highlight practical actions that support resilience and stewardship in one of the world’s fastest-warming ocean regions.
