Come and join author Priscilla Cookson as she reads selected poems from her latest poetry book Move.
Priscilla Cookson is a 2019 finalist for the Carolyn Forché Humanitarian Poetry Prize, to be included in Elusions: Refugee Poems edited by award winning editors James Adams and Peter Anderson. Her work explores global cultures, human and animal rights and identities. She participates in the Portsmouth Poet Laureate Program and Beat Night Portsmouth. She performs weekly in the Seacoast area, and elsewhere.
Her book Move explores the rights of individuals imagined and real, during the peak years of illegal migration crossing the Mediterranean Sea, and also the experience of those kidnapped and forced to soldier and serve. No hope, under constant siege, people of deep conflicting faiths. How do they go on... Move tells the story of porous African borders, all in poetry.
Books will be available to purchase.
