Come unleash your creativity, share your verses, and embrace the power of spoken word at York Public Library's Poetry Open Mic.

Join us for an evening of poetry and self-expression at the York Public Library with local poet and author Priscilla Cookson as she leads this special event as the MC. Whether you’re a seasoned poet or just starting out, this in-person event is the perfect opportunity to share your work and connect with fellow poetry enthusiasts.

Come and be inspired by the power of words!  Don’t miss out on this chance to showcase your talent and support the local poetry community.

*Sign up at the event.

*Read or perform your own original work or work written by someone else.

*All poetry, no prose please.

*The MC will announce each reader’s name - then each individual has 3 minutes to perform. The work should speak for itself, no introductory remarks for example.

*If there is time, and people are interested, we’ll do a second round.

*All ages and all topics are welcome. If your work is not meant for children please advise the MC at time of signup.

*Children are encouraged to come. The MC will sign them into the beginning of the program.
