In celebration of York Maine Recycles Week, The York Recycling Committee invites all members of the community to watch the Frontline documentary Plastic Wars followed by a discussion of impacts and solutions. Refreshments and free raffle.

About the Film: With the plastic industry expanding like never before and the crisis of ocean pollution growing, FRONTLINE and NPR investigate the fight over the future of plastics. Original broadcast 3/31/20.

About the Recycling Committee: Appointed by the Board of Selectmen, the Committee’s mission is to help make recycling efficient, effective and economical as part of the town’s effort to increase sustainability practices.

York Maine Recycles Week is November 15-19.  York will join Maine towns and cities to celebrate the state’s commitment to sustainability and waste reduction.  The theme this year is  REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE, REPAIR AND RECYCLE.  The library will display materials and resources including take-away Solid Waste and Recycling Guides,  What Goes Where stickers and a free raffle for a covered recycle bin.
