Event Details

James Sheppard was one of a small group of men with ties to Maine and NH who served during World War ll with the fighter squadron known as the Tuskegee Airmen, the famed 332nd Fighter Group. For more than a decade his son, Bob Sheppard, has talked to audiences about his dad's experiences as part of the effort by the US Army Air Force to train black pilots to fly military aircraft, at a time when they were normally relegated to menial roles. The presentation by the former broadcast journalist will include a portion of a documentary on his late father, along with personal photographs and images from the National Archives.

Registration is required for this event. This is a very popular presentation so don't hesitate - register today!
