Short videos created by and about people with disabilities in Maine

INVISIBLE is a compelling collection of digital stories produced through a partnership between Community Connect Maine (CCME) and the Maine Developmental Disabilities Council. Since the spring of 2021, we have hosted four digital storytelling workshops led by Anne Aronson of Digital Story Makers. Each workshop empowers participants to craft a narrative drawn from their own experiences or interviews with others, enriched by photos, video clips, and other visuals that bring their stories to life.

Through this collaborative storytelling process, participants uncover meaningful aspects of one another’s lives, presenting diverse perspectives of the disability community while also identifying common themes. These stories not only build connections and foster mutual support but also provide invaluable insights for policymakers striving to understand the complexity, diversity, and needs of the disability community. By sharing these narratives, we strive to make the invisible visible—amplifying voices and experiences that deserve to be heard.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with our esteemed panel and discussion.
