Program Description

Event Details

Join us to meet local groups and vendors working to reduce consumerism and excess, rather reusing, sharing, and reimagining what collaborative climate solutions look like. We’ll be joined by ReStore, We Fill Good, and the founder of the Clothing Library to find out more! Not to mention, we’ll have delicious snacks from The Sundrop Cafe to share as we celebrate together!

Habitat for Humanity ReStore Kennebunk not only sells gently used furniture, appliances, lighting, hardware, construction materials and more, but also offers free pick-up of household goods, everything from old kitchen cabinets to your old sofa. All proceeds from the ReStore support Habitat for Humanity York County's affordable mission. A good deal for you, our community and the environment.

We Fill Good, run by Marla Baldassare, began as a personal passion but evolved into the idea for a business whose mission would be to make it easy and fun for others to do good for the planet. Marla’s goal is not only to offer customers high quality, low waste product options for body and home, but to empower the community to live a more sustainable life.

The Clothing Library, a new initiative by by Stella McShera, aims to reduce overconsumption globally by empowering people to borrow not buy clothing at their local public library. Through its programming, the Clothing Library brings awareness to the ecological and social impact of consumer choices.  They focus on education, exploration and community engagement!

This event is part of York Public Library’s 2024 climate programming series, “Living in a Climate Changed World.” For more information, please visit yorkpubliclibrary.org/climate.
