Repair cafe’s and fixit clinics are popping up all over the country as a natural successor to the maker movement. They use the practical application of tinkering to discover common problems with household items to reuse them rather than send them to the landfill. Join the York Public Library and our community of local fixers to learn how to restore your small appliances, fix your old clothes, revitalize your garden, restore your cast iron skillets, get your rusty bicycle moving again, and more. This program is staffed by community volunteers and they will give their best effort to help you fix your item. If they are unable to help you fix it, someone will be on hand to show you how to recycle it. Please bring any materials you need to fix your item(buttons, fabric patches, bike tires, etc.).
