This program is cosponsored by York Public Library and York Community Service Association.

This 2 part class teaches Home Fire Safety Tips & the Lifesaving Chest Compressions of CPR.

Registration is required.

Home Fire Safety: This training covers the most common causes of home fires, how to mitigate them, and the importance of smoke alarms and escape plans. Home fires are by far the most frequent disaster nationwide, and the Red Cross responds to nearly 60,000 home fires every year. Unfortunately, they are also the deadliest disaster. This home fire presentation can help prevent fires, injury, or loss of life when they do occur. Come learn what you can do.

To access the Home Fire Safety session virtually follow this link: Home Fire Safety

Hands-Only CPR: This in-person session focuses on chest compressions. The compressions are the most important part of CPR (we can all hold our breath, but we can't stop our hearts from beating!), and studies show that even trained bystanders are more likely to perform hands-only CPR than traditional CPR with rescue breaths.  Our "Hands-Only" class teaches the skills you may need to save a life in case of an emergency. [Please note: Hands Only instruction does not certify attendees in CPR.]
