Purpose of Meeting
- Freedom & Captivity has been hosting public humanities events across Maine since 2021.
- This particular event, in collaboration with the Maine Prisoner Advocacy Coalition and the Maine Historical Society, invites audiences to hear stories of Mainers moving through the state's criminal legal system and engage in community conversations about safety, accountability, justice, and alternative responses to harm.
- The event would be free, open to the public, and welcoming of diverse opinions and civil discourse (–– that's our goal!).
