Program Description

Event Details

Celebrate Poetry Month and Earth Day at York Library with a nature-inspired poetry workshop led by Cheryl Perreault. This welcoming program invites participants to explore how poetry can deepen our connection to the natural world.

We’ll begin with 10 minutes outdoors—walking or sitting quietly near the library—to observe nature and gather inspiration. We’ll then return inside to write our own “earth poems” using simple prompts and guided reflection.

No writing experience is necessary. Whether you’re a published poet or writing your very first poem, all are welcome.

There will also be time for optional sharing and conversation about how poetry can help us feel more connected to the Earth and inspire care for our planet.

No experience necessary—just curiosity and a willingness to explore.

Bring: a notebook, a pen, and an umbrella incase it rains.

Registration is recommended for planning purposes.
