What's on your mind as we approach the upcoming United States Presidential Inauguration on Martin Luther King Day? What thoughts/feelings do you have as we shift into the new year? If you are experiencing stress about all the changes, how are you coping? Have you encountered conflicts with family or friends regarding these changes? What has that been like?

This is an opportunity to creatively express your thoughts and feelings about these questions (and more) through the art and practice of poetry.

Come unleash your creativity, share your verses, and embrace the power of spoken word at this YPL Community Poetry Open Mic. Local poet and author Priscilla Cookson will lead this event as the MC. Whether you’re a seasoned poet or just starting out, this in-person event is the perfect opportunity to share your thoughts and feelings as we shift into this new year.
