Are you curious about the best selling book by Jonathan Haidt, The Anxious Generation, but you haven't read it yet? Or maybe you've read it, and you want more?

Join author and clinical psychologist Dr. Joseph Moldover for a deep dive into the ideas in the book. This is a three-part series, join us for all three or for just one or two, each hosted by a different participating library, as part of MECollab, a sharing partnership between libraries throughout the state.

Session 2: April 10 at 6:30 PM Virtual via Zoom.

REGISTER FOR THIS SESSION by clicking the link on the top right of this page.

Session 2: WHAT'S GONE WRONG?

The Anxious Generation points to multiple factors driving the crisis in child and adolescent mental health, but centers on the rise of smartphones and social media platforms. How do we know that these technologies have been damaging to children’s mental health? What are the mechanisms by which they do harm? Are there other factors in play? Are some kids more vulnerable than others? Are some models of parenting and education more effective than others at managing the demands of the social media age?

This is a three-part series, join us for all three or for just one or two. All sessions are held on Zoom. Please register for each session separately.

Session 1: Are the Kids Alright? (Thursday, April 3)
Session 2: What’s Gone Wrong? (Thursday, April 10)
Session 3: Where Do We Go From Here? (Thursday, April 17)
