If You Lost Your Thrill… How Do You Get It Back?

This was the title of a TED Talk that Shawn Shambo created. This presentation is based on that scripted talk. Join us and learn the secrets to Living Ageless!

Shambo is an Occupational Therapist who over the past several years has focused on maximizing senior’s functional abilities to assist in finding new ways of discovering their ultimate thrill, no matter what age.  Shawn will be showing  examples of seniors, mostly over 80, achieving incredible goals from which he creates short documentaries. These include a 90 year old woman setting a world record in pole vaulting, a group of 9 seniors in their early to late 80’s rowing in the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston alongside college athletes and many other amazing stories that are all meant to inspire and change the paradigm of how people perceive aging.

You will also learn about the complex process of working with a Los Angeles based production company with an established goal to have Shambo host a six episode docuseries to be sold to streaming companies such as Netflix, and Hulu. You will be the first to see the trailer for his show entitled Ageless: For Mature Audiences.

About the Presenter

Shawn Shambo is an Occupational Therapist with over 30 years of experience specializing in geriatrics and dementia.  The span of his career has been focused on addressing one’s functional ability to maximize their overall independence.  Shawn worked as an In-Home Therapist for visiting nursing companies for most of his career. He would see patients in their homes, as well as in Independent Living Communities, Assisted Living Communities and Memory Care Communities. These experiences provided him a wealth of information on senior housing overall. In 2018 he took this knowledge and started “Assisted Living Locators”, where he has helped hundreds to find the best fit for their  senior living and care.
